How to grow lantern flowers

How to grow lantern flowers

1. Watering

Lantern flower likes water more, and keeping the planting soil slightly moist is beneficial to its growth. In summer, the plants will grow slowly and enter a semi-dormant state, so water needs to be controlled at this time. In the cold winter and rainy season, the amount and frequency of watering should be reduced, and watering can be done once every 2-3 days.

2. Temperature

The temperature should be maintained within a suitable range. Generally, the plant will grow better when the temperature is between 15-25℃. It is very afraid of heat. When the temperature is higher than 30℃ in summer, cooling measures should be taken. In addition, if you want it to survive the winter safely, the temperature must be kept above 5°C.

3. Rain shelter

In rainy seasons, you need to pay more attention to the weather forecast. If it rains, move the plants to a place where they will not be exposed to the rain. If you don't have time to move the plant, you must pour out the water in the pot immediately after the rain to avoid long-term accumulation of rainwater, which may cause root rot.

4. Fertilizer

Some organic fertilizer should be applied during planting, and less nitrogen fertilizer should be applied in the early stage of growth. If there is an excess of nitrogen fertilizer, the plants will easily grow too tall. Before flowering, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied to help it bloom better. The fertilizer should be used in low concentration and diluted before use.
