How to grow lily of the valley

How to grow lily of the valley

1. Soil

Lily of the valley has a very good growth ability, so it does not have too high requirements for the soil. However, if you want it to grow better, it is best to use loose and nutritious soil. Note, try to avoid using heavy alkaline soil.

2. Lighting

This plant does not like strong light, and the breeding environment must have an appropriate amount of scattered light, or it can be placed directly in a semi-shaded place so that it does not need to be moved back and forth. Flower lovers who grow flowers indoors should pay attention that they need to move them outdoors to see the sun every day. Although they cannot be exposed to strong light, they should not be kept in the shade for a long time.

3. Fertilization

Sufficient base fertilizer should be applied when planting, and appropriate topdressing is needed in spring. It is best to apply fertilizer every 7-10 days after the plants sprout. You can use decomposed cake fertilizer, but it must be diluted before use. In addition, fertilizer should be applied once when the flower stalks appear and after the flowers fade.

4. Watering

Lily of the valley grows best in a slightly moist but not waterlogged environment; it does not like drought. Therefore, during its growing period, you need to water it frequently to keep the soil slightly moist, and it is best not to have water accumulation. When the breeding environment is relatively dry, it is also necessary to spray water from time to time.
