How to grow gladiolus

How to grow gladiolus

1. Soil

When breeding, suitable soil should be used. It likes to grow in nutrient-rich cultivation soil. In addition, the soil must have good permeability, so you cannot use too sticky soil for breeding, as waterlogging will easily occur.

2. Lighting

It likes to grow in places with sufficient sunlight and likes sunlight, so it needs to receive more light during maintenance. However, in the hot summer, it needs a little shade and the temperature should not be too high to provide it with cool summer conditions. If the fish are raised in a place that is too dark, the incidence of diseases and pests will increase.

3. Humidity

It is suitable for growing in a slightly humid environment. The soil should be kept moist during cultivation, but the water should not be too much. When the soil is dry, it needs to be watered immediately. Without water, growth will be affected. In hot climates, it is also necessary to spray water from time to time to maintain a sufficiently high humidity.

4. Pest and disease control

The plants are easily attacked by diseases and pests, the most common of which are mosaic disease, dry rot and leaf spot. They must be dealt with promptly in the early stages of the disease to prevent it from getting worse. The diseased leaves need to be removed in time and sprayed with appropriate pesticides. The main insect pest that harms the plant is thrips, which can cause the petals to curl. It is recommended to use dimethoate emulsifiable concentrate to spray it.
