How often should mint be watered? Watering methods in spring, summer, autumn and winter

How often should you water your mint?

Mint likes moisture, so when watering, you should follow the principle of "don't water unless the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do", but waterlogging is strictly prohibited, and no water accumulation is allowed. This plant is mostly watered with rainwater or river water. If there is only tap water, it is best to air it for a few days before use.

1. Watering in spring

Spring is the season when mint grows rapidly. The plant should not be allowed to lack water at this time. Water it about once every 2-3 days. It is best to fertilize while watering.

2. Watering in summer

The temperature is high in summer, and the evaporation of mint water will naturally accelerate, so it is best to water it once in the morning and once in the evening to prevent the plant from dying from lack of water.

3. Watering in autumn

The temperature gradually drops in autumn. At this time, you can reduce the amount of watering appropriately. Watering once every 2-3 days is enough, but avoid waterlogging.

4. Watering in winter

Mint grows slowly in winter and has poor water absorption. Generally, it only needs to be watered once a week, and there is no need to water it unless the soil is dry.

Mint watering precautions

Wild mint mostly grows near water, so the plants prefer an environment with high humidity. While ensuring that there is no water accumulation, the plants need to be watered in time, and it is best to keep the soil slightly moist.
