How to grow primrose

How to grow primrose

1. Temperature

It has very high temperature requirements and is suitable for growing at a temperature of around 15 degrees. Even in winter, the temperature must be above 10 degrees. It prefers slightly warmer conditions, but will also grow well in cooler temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to cool down the plant in summer, otherwise the leaves will wilt.

2. Lighting

It likes scattered light and three to six hours of light a day is enough. It should avoid midday sunlight, especially in summer when the ultraviolet rays are too strong and should be blocked in time. When caring for it, you can just place it on a sunny balcony, which has good ventilation and is conducive to growth.

3. Watering

The soil in the pot should be kept moist during the growing period. It is not drought-tolerant and a dry environment will cause the leaves to fall off. However, it should not be over-watered or have water accumulation. It is best to keep the soil in the pot semi-dry and semi-moist.

4. Fertilization

Fertilization should be determined according to the growth conditions. It should be applied every ten days during the growth period, mainly liquid nitrogen fertilizer. Liquid phosphorus fertilizer should be applied two or three times during the bud formation period. The amount of fertilizer applied should be reduced during flowering, and fertilization should be stopped after the flowers fade to prepare for winter dormancy.
