Oil peony planting method, what is the prospect

Oil peony planting method, what is the prospect

1. Planting method

1. Site selection: When planting, you should choose a cultivation site with good air permeability and where peonies have not been cultivated before. Annual precipitation should be below 400 mm and the soil should be alkaline with a pH value between 7.5 and 8.2.

2. Land preparation: Land is leveled into water platforms or reverse slope terraces according to the terrain. The width of the water platforms is about 1 meter or more, and the width of the reverse slope terraces is between 1.5 and 3 meters. In addition, base fertilizer should be applied, with 150 to 200 kilograms of cake fertilizer per mu, and the soil should be turned over and leveled after spreading.

3. Planting: It can be planted in spring or autumn every year. The row spacing and plant spacing are both one meter, with about 650 plants per acre. When planting, first dig a hole with a diameter and depth of 40 cm in the soil, then place the seedling in the middle, cover it with 20 cm of soil, carefully lift the seedling to allow the roots to stretch out, then step on it firmly and cover it with soil until it is level with the ground.

4. Maintenance: After planting, water the plants thoroughly. In the later stage, loosen the soil and weed frequently. Also, remember to fertilize once in autumn and prune twice a year. Once in spring, cut off the dry branches and buds sprouting from the roots, and cut off the overgrown branches and dead branches on the top before winter.

2. Prospects

The harvest of oil-bearing peonies is very considerable, with about 400 kilograms of seeds per mu, and an income of about 8,000 yuan, which is several thousand yuan more than growing soybeans, wheat or corn. Moreover, current policies are very supportive of planting, and the prospects are very good.
