Matters Needing Attention in Transplanting Peonies

1. Time

The timing of transplanting peonies is very important and should be between September and October. It cannot be too early or too late. If it is too early, the temperature will be too high and the transplanted plants will not survive easily. If it's too late and the temperature is a little low, the roots are prone to frostbite. But the specific time also depends on the actual situation. If it is in the south, it can be postponed appropriately. If it is in the north, which is relatively cold, it should be advanced appropriately.

2. Site Selection

When transplanting, choose loose, well-drained sandy soil. There must also be conditions for irrigation, and repeated planting is not allowed. Before planting, you need to prepare the land and turn the soil. After preparation, it is best to achieve the effect of water flowing in one direction and seeping in all directions.

3. Watering

The first watering after transplanting should be thorough so that the roots can fully contact the soil and drink enough water to facilitate survival. In the later stage, watering once every half a month is enough. Do not water excessively, and do not allow water to accumulate.

4. Lighting

When transplanting, choose a sunny day, preferably in the afternoon with plenty of sunlight. After planting, do not expose it to strong light. In addition, the roots must be accompanied by the soil ball so that the survival rate will be higher.
