How to grow rainbow jade in autumn

How to grow rainbow jade in autumn

1. Increase nutrients

Its peak growing season is mainly in the summer, but it also grows in the fall. In order to make it grow better, it also needs to be fertilized in autumn. Fertilization should be mainly with light fertilizer, because its root system is sensitive and concentrated fertilizer can easily burn the roots. The frequency of fertilization is once a month, and stop fertilizing when winter approaches.

2. Ensure lighting

The ultraviolet rays are stronger in autumn, and the rainbow jade is most likely to change color at this time. Place it in an environment with strong light, such as a window, balcony or other bright places, so that it can receive light for a long time and its leaves will turn red. Note that if the temperature is too high, it still needs shade. If you don’t like it turning red, you can reduce the light and it will turn back to green.

3. Watering

The watering method in early autumn is the same as usual. You can water when the soil is completely dry, and water until the soil is completely moist. From late autumn to the beginning of winter, you need to slowly reduce the amount of watering. In winter, its various abilities will weaken, and its ability to absorb water will also weaken. Normal watering will lead to slow metabolism. The normal watering method is to water it once a week to half a month, and spray its branches and leaves every other day.

4. Pruning

There are two types of autumn pruning. One is to cut off the head, which can promote the growth of side branches and make it have multiple heads. After cutting the head, it does not need light for the time being. Place it in a semi-shaded place and wait for the incision to dry and heal before cultivating it normally. Another method is to cut off rotten and dry branches and leaves, making sure the cut is as smooth as possible. As long as the pruning range is not large, the plant can be cultivated normally.
