How to care for Clivia before it blooms

1. Flowering time

Its most abundant blooming season is from June to July, the period between spring and summer. It blooms for a long time, sometimes even all year long.

1. Fertilizer

If you want its flowers to be brightly colored and have large petals, you can add some animal offal or other substances when adding fertilizer, so that the roots and stems can absorb more nutrients. Of course, the most important time to fertilize is during the flowering period. Be careful not to put too much nitrogen fertilizer. Instead, put in phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. This is the correct way. You only need to put it once or twice and the flower buds will bloom normally.

2. Lighting

Before it blooms, it must be given sufficient light so that the leaves can begin to respire and its flowering time can be increased. Of course, during its flowering process, you should pay attention to the intensity of light. If the light is too strong, the color of the flower will be darker, but it will wither faster. If the light is weak, the flowering time will be longer, but the color of the petals will be lighter. Therefore, light is a very important factor. Depending on whether you like dark or light-colored flowers, you can adjust the light accordingly.

3. Moisture

It cannot live without water during its life, especially before flowering, it needs more water than usual, and the surrounding humidity should not be lower than 60%. Water is indispensable for all plants from development to withering. Whether the nutrients in the soil can be successfully absorbed by Clivia depends on whether these nutrients can be dissolved in water. You can throw a magnet in the tap water, such water can enable the roots to absorb better and promote its faster growth.

4. Temperature

If it is winter, keep it out of the sun from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If it is hot summer, cover it with a protective cover to scatter the light and reduce the intensity of the sun. During the day, the temperature should be between 20-25 degrees Celsius, and at night, the temperature should be between 13-18 degrees Celsius.
