How to grow wolfberry in autumn

1. Fertilization

After summer growth, flowering and fruiting, most of the nutrients in the soil have been consumed. If nutrients are not replenished in time, the plant will experience reduced yields in the next year. The time for fertilization should be from the beginning of autumn to the frost, ten days before the autumn shoots emerge. If it is too late, the plants will not only fail to absorb nutrients, but also cause nutrient waste.

2. Pruning

1. Clear the base: Many extra branches will grow at the base of the plant. These branches will not only affect the appearance, but also compete for nutrients for the plant. These branches should be cut off.

2. Topping: Cut off the upright branches at the top of the tree to control the height of the crown. If the tree crown is not high enough, you can lengthen these upright branches to reach the desired height.

3. Cutting the bottom: After completing the construction around the crown, some branches are close to the ground, which will affect the fruiting in the second year, so all these branches need to be cut off.

3. Watering

In early autumn, there is no need to control the amount of watering, just continue with the previous watering method. In late autumn, you need to slowly reduce the amount of watering. Excessive watering will affect its metabolism.
