Green apple growth habits

Green apple plants like light and warmth, and are suitable for growing in a warm, semi-shaded and ventilated climate. They are usually grown in a warm and ventilated environment. During their growth period, they need to be watered once a day, fertilized once every seven days, and sprayed with an appropriate amount of antibacterial agents to prevent diseases and insect pests. In summer or winter, they need to be shaded or protected from the cold. Fertilizers cannot be applied during dormancy.

Green apple cultivation method

Choosing a pot: Before planting, you should choose a pot of appropriate size, with a diameter of 110cm and a suitable height. If it is an old pot, you should first soak it in a 1000 times diluted potassium permanganate solution for half an hour to disinfect and sterilize it.

Temperature: The most suitable environmental temperature range for its growth is 18-30 degrees. When the temperature exceeds 25 degrees, cooling measures such as watering should be taken. When the temperature is below 10 degrees in winter, the plant is easily frostbitten, so insulation measures should be taken at this time.

Light: It should be grown in a mild diffuse light environment. If placed outdoors, a shed should be built to provide shade. In winter, additional light should be provided for the plants in the greenhouse.

Fertilizer: During the growth period of the plant, you can apply thin organic fertilizer, and you can also mix urea and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers in appropriate proportions. When the temperature is too high or too low, causing the plant to enter a dormant period, stop fertilizing.

Water: It is best to use river water or rainwater for irrigation. If you use tap water, you should leave it for two days. The frequency of watering does not need to be too frequent. When the soil is dry, you can water it appropriately to keep the soil slightly moist.

Green apple cultivation precautions

Green apple bonsai has the ability to adapt to the environment. Once it gets used to the surrounding growth environment, it should not be moved frequently to avoid increasing the growth burden on the small-leaf green apple bonsai.

Green apple bonsai seedlings and young trees are often prone to two common diseases, anthracnose and black mole. They can be controlled by spraying 1:100 Bordeaux mixture or 1000 times diluted 50% carbendazim. As for insect pests, there are leaf-eating pests such as golden flower bugs and beetles, which can be killed by spraying dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane.
