When is millet harvested?

Millet is native to the Yellow River Basin in China. It is a common grain crop in my country with high nutritional value. It is suitable for consumption by the elderly and children. It mainly contains protein and amino acids, fat and fatty acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, etc., and has the effect of strengthening the spleen and stomach.

Millet mature

The maturity time of millet will be different if the planting area and sowing time are different. It is generally sown in spring and summer, and the growth time is 3-5 months. Millet sown in spring will mature in summer, and millet sown in summer will mature in late autumn.

Millet harvest

The harvesting time of millet varies depending on where it is planted. In the north, it is generally harvested in mid-August and early October each year. In the south, the growing cycle is relatively short and it is generally harvested in mid-July and early September.

Millet Origin and Output

China's millet producing areas are mainly located in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang, accounting for 96.9% of the country's total millet production. The millet yield per mu is generally 300 kg to 400 kg. If the planting conditions are good and the climate environment is superior, the yield per mu will increase.
