What are the cultivation methods and precautions of needle sunflower?

Needle sunflower has strong adaptability and is easy to cultivate and maintain. It is a very unique indoor foliage plant. It has a good air purifying effect. If the plant grows healthier, the air purifying effect will be better. It is often used as a greening plant.

How to cultivate needle palm

1. Pot soil conditions

When cultivating Areca palm, you can mix leaf mold and perlite to make a cultivation medium. After the soil is prepared, you also need to add an appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer to improve the fertility of the soil. You can choose loose, porous, and well-drained and breathable ceramic pots or porcelain pots as cultivation containers so that the Areca palm can grow healthily.

2. Water and fertilizer management

Needle sunflower consumes a lot of water and fertilizer during its growth period. It needs to be watered 1 to 2 times a week in spring and autumn. In summer, the needle sunflower is in its vigorous growth period and needs to be watered once in the morning and evening every day. It also needs to be applied with decomposed organic fertilizer every 10 days to supplement nutrients. When the temperature drops in autumn and winter, watering needs to be controlled and fertilization stopped.

3. Suitable environment

Needle sunflower has a certain degree of shade tolerance, but it has a greater demand for light. In spring, autumn and winter, the needle sunflower can be placed in a bright place for maintenance and given all-day light. When the light is too strong in summer, it needs to be moved to a ventilated, shaded place with scattered light. The daily maintenance temperature should be controlled between 25 and 35 degrees Celsius, and it should be moved indoors as early as possible in winter for maintenance.

Matters Needling Care

Needle sunflower is suitable for growing in an environment with good ventilation and air permeability. If the ventilation of the growing environment is poor, the needle sunflower will be easily attacked by pests and diseases such as whiteflies, resulting in yellow leaves, black spots and other conditions. At this time, it is necessary to spray diluted dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane solution on the leaves for treatment, and transfer the needle sunflower to a ventilated and breathable environment for maintenance.
