Method for germinating Chinese cabbage seeds

Method for germinating Chinese cabbage seeds

The method of germinating Chinese cabbage is simple and easy to understand. First, pour 50 degrees Celsius warm water into a clean container, then put the seeds in and soak them for about 15 minutes. After taking them out, soak them in room temperature water for 8 hours. After soaking, the sprouts of the Chinese cabbage will be easier to grow, which is crucial to its growth rate.

Method for germinating Chinese cabbage

1. Warm water seed soaking method

The seeds of Chinese cabbage have a thin seed coat and absorb water quickly, so you can soak the seeds until there is no hard core, and then wait for the seeds to germinate.

2. Sodium hydroxide seed soaking method

This method can make most of the viruses and fungi in the seeds disappear quickly and speed up the germination of the seeds. First soak the vegetable seeds in clean water for about 4 hours, then soak them in 25% sodium hydroxide solution for 15 minutes, rinse them with clean water, and let them dry for 18 hours before germination.

Planting of Chinese cabbage seedlings

Step 1: Prepare the required materials

Prepare an appropriate amount of high-quality disease-free and disease-resistant Chinese cabbage seeds, then prepare loose, breathable and water-retaining soil, a cultivation container with drainage holes at the bottom, and a watering can.

Step 2: Sowing and raising seedlings

Put the soaked seeds into a container with soil and level it. Then use a watering can to water the soil thoroughly. Then sprinkle the seeds in and cover them with a layer of fine soil about 1 cm thick.

Step 3: Daily Management

Chinese cabbage likes a warm and humid environment, so place it in a sunny and ventilated place. Apply fertilizer 2-3 times during the seedling period. It is best to choose nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, which will make the seeds grow faster.
