How to make orchids sprout more and what fertilizer to use

How to make orchids sprout more and what fertilizer to use

1. Suitable planting material

When cultivating orchids, you should use suitable planting materials, preferably coarse planting materials, which have better drainage and air permeability. If the planting material used is too fine and has poor air permeability, the roots will find it difficult to breathe in such an environment and will not be able to absorb nutrients and water better. The roots will grow very weak and germination will be reduced.

2. Suitable lighting

It likes to be in a semi-shaded environment. When caring for it, it should not be placed in the shade for a long time. Move it to a place with scattered light and get more sunlight. Photosynthesis can only be carried out in light, accumulating more nutrients and thus promoting the growth of more buds. In addition, be careful not to overexposure to the sun and avoid direct and strong sunlight, otherwise you will easily get sunburned.

3. Apply fertilizer appropriately

When cultivating, base fertilizer should be applied to ensure sufficient nutrients. Fertilizer can be made from fermented bark, peanut shells or coconut shells and used as base fertilizer. Gravel should also be added to improve its permeability. Not only that, during the growth process, appropriate amounts of organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers should be added to increase nutrients. Sufficient nutrients will produce more buds and promote more flowering.

4. Water appropriately

It likes moisture, so you need to water it frequently during the growing season to keep the soil moist. If there is a lack of water, the plants will turn yellow and their growth will be hindered. But don't water too much. Once water accumulates, the roots will rot and it will not be conducive to germination. Keeping it slightly moist can ensure that it absorbs enough water and grows vigorously.
