What are the types of nitrogen fertilizers?

Ammonium nitrogen fertilizers can be divided into ammonium bicarbonate, liquid ammonia, ammonia water, ammonium chloride and ammonium sulfate, while nitrate nitrogen fertilizers can be divided into sodium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, calcium nitrate, potassium sulfate, etc.

Types of nitrogen fertilizer

Nitrogen fertilizers are divided into three types: nitrate nitrogen fertilizers, ammonium nitrogen fertilizers and amide nitrogen fertilizers. The most frequently used ones are ammonium bicarbonate, potassium sulfate, ammonium sulfate and urea.

Common nitrogen fertilizers

Nitrogen fertilizer is a fertilizer mainly based on nitrogen. Common ones include ammonium nitrogen fertilizer, nitrate nitrogen fertilizer, amide nitrogen fertilizer, etc. Nitrogen fertilizer has the functions of thinning flowers and fruits, rice seed production, and preventing and controlling pests.

1. Ammonium nitrogen fertilizer

Ammonium nitrogen fertilizer is more suitable for being absorbed by the soil. However, if plants absorb excessive ammonium nitrogen fertilizer, it may affect the nutritional effects of elemental fertilizers such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, and may also form toxic and harmful substances in the potting soil.

2. Nitrate nitrogen fertilizer

Nitrate nitrogen fertilizers are mostly soluble in water, and after being put into the soil, they can quickly increase the nutrient content of the soil. One advantage of nitrate nitrogen fertilizers is that they do not affect the absorption of nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.

3. Urea

Urea is a synthetic organic nitrogen fertilizer. It is a neutral quick-acting fertilizer. After being applied to the soil, no harmful substances will remain. Even long-term use will not cause too much negative impact.

4. Homemade nitrogen fertilizer

In addition to professional nitrogen fertilizers, you can also make simple nitrogen fertilizers at home, such as a mixture of egg and peanut shells, fermented milk, and poultry meat and bones.

5. Amide nitrogen fertilizer

Amide nitrogen fertilizer is the most common and frequently used urea fertilizer. It contains 47% nitrogen fertilizer. Among all solid nitrogen fertilizers, amide nitrogen fertilizer has the highest nitrogen content.
