What to do if the leaves of cyclamen turn yellow and soft

What to do if the leaves of cyclamen turn yellow and soft

1. Appropriate topdressing

Reason: Cyclamen needs nutrients to grow. If it lacks nitrogen, it will easily cause the plant to be weak and the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Apply appropriate top dressing fertilizer to cyclamen. The time is generally from the growing season to before flowering, and decomposed liquid fertilizer should be applied once a week. Although the plant lacks nutrients, the amount of fertilizer should not be too large. Dilute the fertilizer with water before applying to avoid damaging the roots.

2. Lower the temperature

Reason: It grows well in a cool environment. If the temperature is higher than 35℃, the leaves will turn yellow and the plant may die.

Solution: Place the cyclamen in a semi-shaded location. Since it also needs a certain amount of light to grow, it should be placed in the sun in the early morning or evening. Move it away in time at other times to prevent light from raising the temperature of the environment. In addition, the temperature can be reduced by spraying water.

3. Improve ventilation

Reason: Poor air circulation can easily reduce the oxygen content in the environment and breed various bacteria, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Poor ventilation is usually a problem in indoor cultivation. You can place the plants on the balcony and open the windows for ventilation. Since cyclamen is quite cold-resistant, you can provide proper ventilation in winter and don't have to worry about it getting cold.

4. Increase humidity

Reason: Dry air will intensify the transpiration of leaves, causing the leaves to lose water and turn yellow.

Solution: Spray water on the leaves regularly every day. If you want long-term moisturizing, you can cover it with a bag after spraying water. In addition, you can also sprinkle water on the ground. The general time for spraying water is in the early morning or evening, and do not form water droplets when spraying.
