Cultivation methods and precautions of Emperor Begonia

The imperial begonia blooms in spring and is very beautiful. It is a woody plant and many people like to grow it, but many people encounter problems when growing it. Either the tips of the leaves turn yellow, or the edges of the leaves turn black and dry. The main reason is that they do not understand its growth habits. In fact, it is an easy plant to grow.

How to grow imperial begonia

1. Soil

The roots of the imperial begonia are very afraid of stagnant water, so when we choose the soil, we must choose loose, breathable and well-drained soil. It can be made of leaf mold, garden soil and river sand in a ratio of 3:2:1. After being exposed to the sun for a few days for disinfection, it can be used.

2. Lighting

The imperial crabapple loves light. If you want it to bloom beautiful flowers, you must give it sufficient light. If there is insufficient light, it will be difficult for it to bloom or even not bloom, and it will not be very ornamental.

3. Temperature

The imperial begonia prefers a warm growing environment and is not cold-resistant. The suitable growth temperature is between 10-30 degrees Celsius. Pay attention to keeping warm in winter and keep the temperature above 10 degrees Celsius, otherwise frostbite is likely to occur.

Matters Needing Attention in Caring for Begonia

1. Don't water the imperial begonia too often. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. Water thoroughly. There should be no water accumulation at the bottom of the pot. Be careful not to water the branches and leaves. Water along the edge of the pot to avoid black rot.

2. The imperial begonia enters a dormant state in winter and the plant stops growing. If you water it at this time, you should reduce the number of waterings and not water it too frequently, otherwise the roots will easily rot. When the temperature drops to around 10 degrees, move it indoors for cultivation.
