How to grow mirror grass

How to grow mirror grass

1. Cultivation technology

1. Water: Mirror grass is not suitable for growing in a dry environment, so ensure sufficient water and humidity. During breeding, the soil should be kept slightly moist, not too dry and without water accumulation. In order to increase the humidity of the breeding environment, you should also spray the leaves with more water.

2. Temperature: It should be given a growing environment of about 15-20℃, the maximum temperature should not exceed 30℃, and the temperature for safe wintering is above 7℃. If the cultivation temperature is too low, the plant will be frozen and fall leaves.

3. Light: It likes sunlight, but it also has a certain degree of shade tolerance. It is best to give it appropriate diffuse light. Do not place it in the sun when the sun is strong. The climate is cold in severe winter and the light is weak, so it is best to have sunlight all day.

4. Fertilizer: During the growth period of the plant, liquid fertilizer can be applied once every 15 days or so, and a small amount of nitrogen fertilizer can be applied in spring. In summer, you should apply less fertilizer or stop fertilizing altogether. Do not use concentrated fertilizer or apply large amounts of fertilizer.

2. Disease and Pest Control

1. Disease: The disease that generally harms mirror grass is anthracnose. After discovery, it is best to use anthracnose, thimerosal and carbendazim to spray for prevention and control.

2. Pests: scale insects and cottony scale. If the seeds are attacked by scale insects, you can spray them with cypermethrin and chlorpyrifos. If the seeds are attacked by cottony scale, you can spray them with 40% omethoate.
