How to plant crabapples? Can they be grown outdoors in winter?

1. Planting method

1. Time: The time for planting crabapples should be chosen carefully, usually in spring and autumn. Do not plant when the temperature is too high or too low. Spring and autumn are the times when the seed germination rate is relatively high, so it is better to plant at this time.

2. Seed selection: Buy seeds of better quality, preferably with fuller grains. Or you can air-dry the seeds after harvesting them, and then take them out when sowing.

3. Soil: The soil used for planting should be loose. It is very suitable for growing in acidic soil. Try not to use alkaline soil as it will hinder its germination and growth.

4. Planting: Just plant the seeds. The planting depth should not be too deep, about 2-3cm is enough. When the crabapple seedlings grow two pairs of leaves, they can be transplanted. After transplanting, they must be kept away from light.

2. Can it be outdoors?

Usually, it is very cold outside in winter, and Begonia has poor cold resistance, so it is best not to place it outdoors. It is better to move it indoors after winter. If this cannot satisfy you, you can put it in a plastic bag or build a small greenhouse and make sure it is kept warm. If you leave it outdoors without keeping it warm, it will get frostbite or even freeze to death.
