When to transplant osmanthus trees

When to transplant osmanthus trees

Transplanting osmanthus trees cannot be done at any time. Transplanting at an inappropriate time may cause great damage to the tree. Therefore, transplanting must be done at an appropriate time to truly promote the growth of the tree.

Transplanting time of osmanthus tree

The best time to transplant osmanthus trees is in spring and autumn. The survival rate of osmanthus is the highest if the plants are transplanted before they sprout in spring. As long as the method is correct, 90% of them can survive. If transplanted in early spring, after two vigorous growth periods in spring and summer, the seedlings transplanted in spring can also grow many branches.

Osmanthus tree transplanting method

1. Choose the soil

The most important step in transplanting osmanthus is to choose the transplanting site. You can choose reddish-brown soil to transplant the osmanthus tree. The reddish-brown soil contains super high nutrients and has some very good effects on the growth of the osmanthus tree.

2. Soil treatment

On the reddish-brown land, dig a large hole of about 50-150 cm every 20 meters. Before transplanting, please note that the roots of the osmanthus tree must be covered with soil from the original soil, so that it will be easier to survive after transplanting.

3. Transplant

When transplanting an osmanthus tree, first put some soaked straw in the large pit where the tree is planted, then place it closest to the roots, and slowly straighten it at a 45-degree angle. Planting the tree directly may damage the roots due to the force.

Management of Osmanthus fragrans after transplanting

After the osmanthus tree is transplanted, you can water it thoroughly. Watering is to enable the tree to better adapt to the soil and increase its survival rate after transplanting. At this time, its roots are fragile and no fertilizer is needed.
