Cultivation methods and precautions of Sphagnum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Sphagnum

The stonecrop is particularly easy to grow. Since it grows directly on tiled houses, it needs to endure a lot of rain and sunshine. It can grow under such conditions. If you keep it at home, you don't need to take much care of it and it can grow well.

How to cultivate Sphagnum ovata

1. Lighting

The spathiphyllum is light-loving, so you should choose a sunny location when growing it, and it is best to place it on a balcony, roof or courtyard. With sufficient sunlight, the leaves are thick and full, the plant shape is compact, the leaves are short and dense, and the leaf color changes from emerald green to iron red or dark purple.

2. Temperature

The stonecrop can withstand extreme temperatures of -20-40℃. Its growing season is mainly in spring and autumn. The plant grows slowly in summer and has a short dormant period when the temperature is high. It can be properly shaded to avoid the heat and cool down, and can be placed on the inside of the balcony without direct sunlight for cultivation.

3. Watering

The stone moss is relatively drought-resistant but afraid of waterlogging. When the plant wilts, it can be recovered by watering, but it cannot be too dry, otherwise the plant will grow slowly. When cultivating it, watering should follow the principle of "better dry than wet, not watering if not dry, and watering thoroughly when watering" to make the stone moss grow better.

Matters Needing Attention in Maintenance of Spathiphyllum

When caring for the Sawmill, you should apply less fertilizer. Although the Sawmill grows relatively slowly, it is only necessary to apply decomposed thin liquid fertilizer once every 20 days or so during the growing season. In addition, the plant will go into a short dormant state during the high temperatures in summer, so fertilization should be stopped.
