How to prune lucky bamboo

Lucky bamboo can be pruned in the spring. It grows very fast. If it is not pruned for a period of time, its leaves will turn yellow or wither. It is best to pruned between late January and mid-February so that the lucky bamboo can grow better after pruning.

Lucky bamboo is usually grown in hydroponics, and to prune it, use sharp scissors to make a 45-degree incision. The incision should be smooth, and the plant should be controlled at a certain height. Also, one-third of the lucky bamboo's leaves should be removed to reduce its consumption of nutrients and water.

Precautions for pruning lucky bamboo

1. Root pruning:

Pruning the roots of lucky bamboo can slow down its growth rate appropriately. When pruning, be careful to only prune the old roots. It is best not to cut the newly grown roots to avoid affecting the growth of the plant.

2. Trimming position:

In the middle of the lucky bamboo, use a wallpaper knife to cut it into two sections, and soak the wound in a rooting agent for 5 minutes before taking it out for planting. Note that the cut surface should be cut into an oblique surface, which is more conducive to the growth of the lucky bamboo.
