Freesia planting methods and precautions

Freesia planting methods and precautions

When planting freesia, it is best to choose a flowerpot with a diameter of about 20 cm, and then prepare well-drained, loose and fertile soil for it. Generally, 5-7 bulbs are planted in one pot.

Freesia growth habits

The freesia plant is native to southern Africa. It is a bulbous herbaceous flower. The plant prefers a cool, humid, well-lit growing environment. The suitable temperature for growth is around 15-20℃, and its cold resistance is relatively poor.

Freesia planting method

1. Choose the soil

When planting freesia, it is best to choose loose, fertile, well-drained nutrient soil. Of course, you can also prepare it yourself. You need to add appropriate poultry manure to the soil to improve the soil fertility.

2. Planting

Peel off the brown skin of the freesia bulb, then dig a small hole in the soil, plant the bulb in it, cover it with a layer of soil, and finally water it thoroughly along the edge of the pot and place it in a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

Precautions for freesia cultivation

When watering freesia, you can follow the principle of "watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet". Generally, you only need to water it once every 8-9 days. Make sure to water it thoroughly each time until you see water slightly seeping out from the bottom of the pot. In addition, you must give it sufficient light to ensure good growth of the plant.
