Cultivation methods and precautions of water pineapple

The Bromeliad species is a very strong variety. Compared with other bromeliads, this variety of plant can adapt to new environments better and can survive in lower humidity environments.

How to cultivate water pineapple

1. Soil

The requirements of the water pineapple for the soil are not high. Generally, fine particles, pure Akadama, peat soil, perlite, etc. can be used for preparation. Note that high temperature disinfection must be carried out before use.

2. Lighting

The water bromeliad is light-loving, and the suitable light intensity is about 18,000 lux. If the light is appropriate, the plant will have a compact shape, larger flowers, and will be more ornamental.

3. Watering

Water-logged pineapples like moisture, so the plants must be kept with clean water. The water quality must be clean. However, in summer, stagnant water can easily deteriorate and needs to be cleaned up in time.

4. Humidity

The water bromeliad prefers a high-humidity environment. The air humidity during maintenance should be maintained between 75-85%. In this way, the plant will become round and full, and its ornamental value will be higher.

5. Temperature

The water bromeliad prefers to grow in a warm environment. The most suitable temperature is between 21-28℃. The minimum temperature in winter cannot be lower than 15℃, otherwise the plant will be frostbitten.

Precautions for the maintenance of pineapple

If the water pineapple is grown in a pot, it usually needs to be repotted after 4 months. When repotting, you can put a medium at the bottom of the pot, then place the plant in the center of the pot, and press the surrounding soil tightly.
