How to grow white magnolia

How to grow white magnolia

1. Soil

Magnolia is suitable for acidic soil, with a pH requirement of about 5.5-6.3. It also needs good drainage, looseness, softness, and nutrition. It cannot be planted in soil with poor air permeability.

2. Lighting

It needs sufficient sunlight during the growing period, about 6 hours a day. It needs more sunlight during the flowering period, but it needs to be blocked in the hot summer to avoid direct sunlight.

3. Water and Fertilizer

Its roots are fleshy and require water, but they cannot tolerate a watery growing environment. Regular watering is required during the growing period to ensure growth, and watering can be reduced when the weather turns cooler. Evaporation is faster in the hot summer, so water should be applied in the morning and evening, and the surrounding area should be sprayed with water to keep it moist. Before planting, apply decomposed cake fertilizer as base fertilizer. After that, fertilizer should be applied in time during the growth and flowering period, but pay attention to the concentration.

4. Temperature

Magnolia likes a warm climate but is afraid of the cold. For potted plants, it needs to be moved indoors in time and the temperature should be kept at around 10 degrees Celsius. The climate is hot in summer, so you should also pay attention to spraying water around to cool down.

5. Pruning

In order to ensure its smooth growth, it also needs to be pruned in time, and dead branches, yellow branches, and diseased branches should be cut off in time during its growth.
