Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of purple bead grass

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of purple bead grass

1. Water yellow

Reason: Purple Beadgrass has high requirements for water. It likes a humid environment, is afraid of drought, and is very intolerant to waterlogging and cannot tolerate waterlogging. Stagnant water will cause soil hypoxia, causing part of the roots to rot and weakening the ability to absorb water and fertilizer, resulting in yellow leaves.

Solution: If yellow leaves appear due to excessive watering, the plant needs to be placed in a ventilated place to allow excess water to evaporate quickly. If the situation is serious and the roots are rotten, you need to remove it from the pot first, cut off the rotten roots, dry the soil and then replant and maintain it.

2. Burning yellow

Reason: Purple Beadgrass likes warmth and grows better in a cool environment. Therefore, when caring for the purple pearl grass, do not allow it to be exposed to light for a long time, otherwise its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Try to keep its growth environment away from direct sunlight. In addition, if you grow it in the north, you can choose to plant it in a sunny place that is sheltered from the wind.

3. Fat and yellow

Reason: Improper fertilization can easily cause yellowing of leaves and may even cause the death of the plant. The fertilizer requirements of Purple Beadgrass are quite strict. Insufficient fertilizer will cause its leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: If too little fertilizer is applied, you need to increase the frequency of fertilization and add fertilizer to the plants in time. Among the base fertilizers, the five types of sludge fertilizer, pig and cow manure, cake fertilizer, calliandra base fertilizer, and biological fertilizer are most helpful to the growth of calliandra. When planting Callicarpa ovata, a certain amount of base fertilizer needs to be applied, and top dressing should also be done in time during the growth period.
