Safflower cultivation technology

Safflower cultivation technology

Although the safflower planting area in my country is relatively wide, it is mainly concentrated in the two provinces of Xinjiang and Yunnan, because the planting of the plants is greatly affected by factors such as climate and temperature.

Safflower Planting Conditions

The safflower plant is native to tropical regions. The plant likes warmth and has high temperature requirements. It is best to grow in an environment of 10-30℃, but when the temperature is below 10℃, the plant is prone to poor growth.

How to grow safflower

1. Site selection and land preparation

Safflower is a plant that likes drought and fertilizer, and avoids moisture and waterlogging, but it has good adaptability. However, it is best to choose dry land or wasteland for planting. Before planting, the soil needs to be carefully plowed and raked to make the soil loose, and then an appropriate amount of fertilizer is applied to it.

2. Sowing

The sowing time of safflower is not fixed. Generally speaking, it can be sown according to the local climate, and high and low ridges can be made according to the terrain. It is recommended to make two rows in each ridge, and choose row sowing or spot sowing. After sowing, cover the soil and water immediately.

Safflower Management Technology

Safflower likes fertilizer, and in the later management, it needs to be combined with inter-row cultivation and weeding for topdressing. Both farmyard manure and chemical fertilizer can be applied. It should be applied heavily before closing the rows. About 4,000 kilograms of rotted manure should be applied per mu to promote plant growth.
