Cultivation methods and precautions of purple-backed Dieffenbachia

For beginners, I believe they all want to choose a plant that is both beautiful and easy to grow. Purple-backed Dieffenbachia is a good choice. Its leaves are green on the front and purple on the back. It is very beautiful. With a little attention to management, it can easily bloom out of the pot.

Cultivation method of purple-backed Dieffenbachia

1. Temperature

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia likes a warm environment and is not cold-resistant. If it is cultivated hydroponically, the best cultivation temperature is between 18-28 degrees. If it is cultivated in soil, the best growth temperature is between 15 and 28 degrees. If the temperature is below 10 degrees, it must be moved indoors to avoid frostbite.

2. Sunlight

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia likes the sun. During cultivation, avoid placing it in excessive shade. It is best to provide a brightly lit environment. If it is cultivated in a shady environment, the plant will easily grow too tall, the color of the leaves will gradually degenerate, it will appear particularly delicate, and its ornamental value will be reduced.

3. Soil

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia is suitable for planting in well-drained soil, generally cultivated in sandy soil or humus soil. It has a strong adaptability to soil and can be grown in some peat soil and pearl garden soil, mixed in a ratio of 3:1.

4. Watering

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia has a certain degree of drought resistance and does not require frequent watering. If it is grown in a place with more sunlight, the soil can be kept slightly moist in spring and summer. If it is grown in a shaded place, wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before adding water to it and watering it slowly.

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia maintenance precautions

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia is a plant that is not cold-tolerant and prefers warmth. Low temperatures will freeze the Purple-backed Dieffenbachia, so it cannot be planted in winter. If the temperature at home is above 15 degrees, you don’t have to worry about this problem, and the Purple-backed Dieffenbachia can grow normally.

Purple-backed Dieffenbachia cannot tolerate waterlogging, so you should control watering at normal times. However, when the temperature is high in summer and the air humidity is low, you can sprinkle water around the plant in an appropriate amount to keep it moist, so that it can safely spend the summer.
