How to grow Golden Edge Tiger Pilan to make it grow well (Golden Edge Tiger Pilan's blooming pot cultivation method)

The Golden Edged Tiger Skin Orchid is a type of Tiger Skin Orchid, but it has a golden edge, and sometimes there are gradient patterns of golden and green on the leaves, which is very unique.

Golden Edge Tiger Pilan has very slender leaves, and its leaves stand upright, not spreading out like Chlorophytum. It is a plant variety that is very suitable for home cultivation and has good ornamental value. So. What are the cultivation methods and precautions of Golden Edge Tiger Pilan?

The soil should be acidic

The Golden Edged Tiger Pilan is native to tropical Africa where the soil is acidic. Over a long period of time, it has developed an acid-loving growth habit, that is, soil with a pH value of less than 7. For example, most soils in the south are acidic, and most soils in the north are alkaline.

There is no need to worry about alkaline soil when planting in the south. I dig soil from the vegetable garden and plant them, and each plant can grow to the size of the pot.

In northern regions, a mixture of leaf mold and coarse sand is needed for planting. When using tap water for watering, it needs to be left to stand for 48 hours before use.

Why is the soil required to be acidic?

Because for plants that like acidic soil, if the soil is alkaline, that is, the pH value is greater than 7, the roots of the plants will have difficulty breathing, and water discharge will be blocked, which will cause the roots of the plants to rot over time.

The sunlight should be gentle

Last summer, a pot of Golden Edged Tiger Piranha in my house was sunburned, and its leaves became soft and drooping. Later, I moved it to a location with soft sunlight and kept it for a period of time. Only then did the plant slowly resume its growth.

According to its growth habits of liking light and being able to tolerate partial shade, I think it is best to place it in a location with scattered light indoors for maintenance. In winter, it can be placed in a location with stronger light, which can make the leaves fuller and more upright.

Watering should be appropriate

The leaves, roots and stems of the Golden Edge Tiger Piranha are full of juice. In addition, it has a relatively drought-resistant growth habit, so it hates waterlogging or overly wet soil.

If the soil is moist every time you water, it will naturally cause water accumulation and root rot over a long period of time, eventually causing the plant to wither and die.

I think the soil can be kept a little drier, but not too wet or waterlogged. For example, the soil should be completely dry before watering can be carried out for maintenance.

Fertilization should be timely

The life force of Golden Edge Tiger Piranha is very tenacious, and because it is resistant to barrenness, it is easy to overlook the issue of fertilizing and supplementing nutrition during the maintenance process.

If the plant is not maintained and fertilized for a long time, it will easily be in a state of poor growth, such as yellowing leaves, difficulty in growing out of the pot, etc.

I think scientific and reasonable fertilization can be carried out in spring and summer, such as fertilizing once every 30 days, using nutrient-rich cake fertilizer water, and using it after diluting it with clean water. However, fertilizer should not be applied when the plant is sick.

Propagation requires division

Tiger Pilan can be propagated by cuttings, divisions, etc. If you use leaf cuttings to propagate Golden Edge Tiger Pilan, the seedlings that grow out will lose their golden edges and become ordinary varieties.

Therefore, it is necessary to carry out cutting propagation through division in order to continue the characteristics of the variety. In addition, the success rate of division propagation in spring is higher.
