Cultivation methods and precautions of Aloe Vera (How to grow Aloe Vera in pots)

Aloe vera is a type of aloe with a short stem, no upright branches, and large, thick leaves. An adult aloe vera plant looks a bit like a lotus seat. Here are some tips on growing aloe vera and what to look out for.

Is Aloe Vera easy to grow?

Aloe vera is very easy to grow . It is drought-resistant and has strong vitality. It is no problem if it is not watered for a month . It can grow very large in one year.

How to grow Aloe vera

1. Lighting

During cultivation, the plants need to be exposed to the sun in spring and autumn so that they can grow healthier; they need to be properly shaded from the scorching sun in summer ; and they should be placed in a sunny place indoors for maintenance in winter .

2. Temperature

When cultivating Aloe vera, its plants are more suitable for growing at a temperature of 15-35℃ , and the temperature in winter cannot be lower than 5℃, otherwise it will be not conducive to the overwintering of Aloe vera plants.

3. Watering

When cultivating Aloe vera, watering should be done according to the principle of watering thoroughly when the soil is dry. The leaves of the plant are rich in water, so it is not necessary to water it too much at ordinary times. It is better to keep the soil dry . In summer, the evaporation is large, so you can water it more appropriately.

4. Soil

Aloe vera prefers loose soil with good drainage. You can add some sand, ash and other materials to the potting soil . It is better if you can add rotten leaves and grass ash. Highly sticky soil can easily cause poor breathing and necrosis of the plant roots, but too much sandy material can easily cause water and nutrient loss, which is also not conducive to the growth of aloe vera.

Aloe Vera Care Tips

When caring for Aloe vera, you should pay attention to controlling fertilization . Aloe vera does not like fertilizer, so apply less fertilizer at normal times and flexibly control the growth period according to actual conditions.

In addition, it is easy to be infected by gray mold, anthrax, gray louse and scale insects during its growth process, and it is necessary to purchase corresponding pesticides for prevention and control . At the same time, the growth environment of Aloe vera should not be polluted, and the plant should be ventilated more often.
