Can used tea leaves be used to grow flowers? Put the used tea leaves in the flower pot as fertilizer to grow flowers

Can you grow flowers with brewed tea leaves?

Although there are a lot of residues left after drinking tea, we often just dispose of them as garbage. In fact, the residues of brewed tea contain rich potassium and organic carbon and other nutrients.

These tea dregs can be used to plant flowers . However, tea is alkaline and is not suitable for watering flowers directly. On the one hand, many flowers actually like acid. On the other hand, soaked tea leaves placed in potting soil are very likely to breed bacteria and insect eggs during the rotting process, which is very detrimental to the growth of the flowers and plants we raise.

Can tea leaves be used to grow flowers directly?

Do not just throw tea residue directly onto the soil of the potted plants. This will not only not work, but will also reduce the ventilation of the soil. Flowers will find it difficult to absorb sufficient water, and over time it will cause root rot at the bottom, attract mosquitoes and diseases, etc. This will undoubtedly greatly affect the normal growth of potted plants.

These residual tea leaves can help flowers grow more luxuriantly. The flowers and leaves that bloom are brighter, and you can even smell a light floral scent. Of course, tea water also has a role to play, mainly helping to extend the flowering cycle of flowers and making the flowering period longer.

The correct way to grow flowers with tea

Method 1: Fermentation for use as fertilizer >

Step 1: Put it in the barrel

First, you can take a container, such as a plastic bucket, etc. Pour the tea residue into the bucket. In addition to tea leaves, tea water can also be mixed together.

When the barrel is almost half full, you can seal the barrel. The whole process begins, and you need to wait patiently for at least half a month to complete.

Step 2: Bury it in the soil as fertilizer to grow flowers

After fermentation, the residue can be used as fertilizer. Although it can be directly buried in the soil of the potted plant, it should be noted that it is not enough to use tea residue as fertilizer, but it must be used in conjunction with other fertilizers.

Method 2: Sunbathing + mixing soil to plant flowers

In addition to this method of sealing the tea leaves in a barrel, flower lovers can also put the tea leaves in the sun to dry. This is also a fermentation process. When drying the tea leaves, you need to make sure that the water is dry.

Note that during the drying process, the plants must be dried until there is no moisture at all, so that they can be put into the soil, mixed with the soil, and used as fertilizer in the flower soil.
