Planting methods and precautions for water lily potted plants

Water lily is a relatively common plant. There are many varieties of water lilies. Some common water lilies include fragrant water lilies, blue water lilies, red water lilies, yellow water lilies, white water lilies, etc. The flower colors of each water lily are different, but basically they all have fragrance.

In fact, if there is plenty of sunlight at home, it is also a very good choice to grow a few pots of water lilies on the balcony or in the courtyard. When they bloom, they have a unique beauty.

How to plant potted water lilies

1. Pot soil

Generally, it is best to use smaller pots or larger flower pots that can hold water for growing water lilies. The diameter of the pot should be at least 25 cm. If it is too small, the water lily will not grow. The soil should be relatively fertile, and it is best to add some leaf mold.

2. Fertilization

Water lilies need to be fertilized frequently, two to three times during the growth and development period. Usually, you can give some diluted cake fertilizer water, or other fertilizer water, or some fermented cake fertilizer powder, or superphosphate. Only when the nutrients are sufficient, it will grow leaves and flower buds smoothly. Secondly, it must be kept in a sunny place with sufficient sunlight.

Precautions for water lily maintenance

When the weather is hot and the temperature is high, water lilies should be changed frequently to keep the water clean. After flowering, some dead leaves and residual flowers should be cut off in time to reduce nutrient consumption. When fertilizing, put the fertilizer a little away from the root system and put it in the mud to avoid burning the roots.
