Cabbage planting time

Cabbage can be planted all year round, but because of the different climates in different places, cabbage is divided into early, medium and late maturing varieties, but the most suitable planting time is in August.

Before planting cabbage, we need to prepare the land and apply fertilizer first. The planting methods generally use row sowing and hole sowing. When the cabbage grows, thin fertilizer should be applied regularly, and attention should be paid to the prevention and control of pests and diseases.

Cabbage growth temperature

Chinese cabbage is a semi-hardy vegetable that prefers to grow in a warm and cool environment. Its seeds can germinate at eight to ten degrees, and germinate quickly and vigorously at twenty to twenty-five degrees.

The most suitable growth temperature during its growth period is about 25 degrees. Generally, it grows better at 20 to 30 degrees, and can withstand light frost. When the temperature reaches above 25 degrees, it will grow poorly, and above 30 degrees, it cannot adapt. When it is below 10 degrees, it grows slowly, and below 5 degrees, it basically stops growing.

Chinese cabbage growth cycle

The growth cycle of Chinese cabbage is relatively short, generally about fifty-five days. Different regions and climatic environments will affect the growing period. The growth period is divided into four stages: germination stage, seedling stage, rosette stage, and heading stage.
