Eggplant growth environment conditions and characteristics

Eggplant growth environment conditions and requirements

Eggplant is native to tropical Asia and is widely cultivated around the world. The plant has good environmental adaptability and prefers a high temperature and high light growing environment. It is a long-day crop and does not require much water in the early stages of growth.

Eggplant growth temperature

The optimum growth temperature of eggplant is 15-30℃, and the night temperature should also be between 15-20℃. The plant has poor cold resistance. When the temperature is below 15℃, the plant grows slowly, and when the temperature is below 10℃, the growth of the plant will be affected.

Eggplant growth humidity

Eggplant likes water but is afraid of water. During the growing period, the air humidity must be between 60% and 70%. When watering, be sure to water it thoroughly, but do not allow water to accumulate in the soil.

Eggplant growing soil

Eggplant prefers fertile, neutral soil with good water and fertilizer retention capabilities. The plant has high requirements for nitrogen fertilizer. If this element is lacking during the growth process, it will delay the differentiation of flower buds and reduce the number of flowers.

Eggplant growth cycle and process

Spring is the peak growth season for eggplants. Its growth goes through stages such as germination, seedling, flowering and fruiting. It takes 10-12 days from planting to germination, and 50-60 days from the appearance of needles to large buds. After the eggplant buds appear, it will enter the flowering and fruiting period.
