Can tomatoes be grown all year round? How many times can they be grown in a year?

Tomatoes are native to the Andes Mountains in South America, in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, etc. They are widely grown in various parts of my country, with Shandong, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Henan, Yunnan, Guangxi, etc. being the main tomato production areas in my country, and the cultivated area is still expanding.

Tomato planting time

Tomatoes can be grown in greenhouses all year round , while open-air cultivation generally takes more than two seasons . The sowing seasons vary in different regions, mainly concentrated from January to March and July to August. The appropriate sowing period can be determined based on a comprehensive consideration of factors such as the planting season, climatic conditions, cultivation methods, and seedling facilities.

Tomato growing temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for tomatoes is around 25 degrees, and the minimum temperature cannot exceed 2 degrees. If it is maintained at this temperature, it is very beneficial for fruit setting. The temperature should be allowed to exceed 20 degrees as soon as possible in the morning. If the temperature reaches 27 degrees, you should prepare to ventilate. When the temperature reaches 30 degrees, it will have a certain impact on the growth of the plant.

Tomato growth cycle

The tomato growth cycle takes about 110 to 170 days. The growth period varies in different regions. The greenhouse period is shorter. There are four stages: germination period, seedling period, flower bud differentiation and development period, and fruiting period.
