Peach tree cutting time and method

1. Cutting time

Peach tree cuttings can be made from hard branches or soft branches. The time required for cuttings using different branches is also different. Usually, hard branch cuttings are mostly carried out in spring, while soft branch cuttings are carried out in the rainy season, which is around June and July. Choosing the right time for cuttings can increase the chances of survival.

2. Cutting method

1. Pruning: Whether using hard branches or soft branches, you must choose thick and healthy branches, and the length is generally controlled at around 18-20cm.

2. Treatment: 3 leaves need to be retained on the branches, and half of the leaves should be cut off so that the water evaporates more slowly. Cut the top flat and the bottom with a smooth bevel.

3. Disinfection: Prepare the substrate to be used and disinfect it. After pruning the branches, simply disinfect them with carbendazim and then dip them in rooting water.

4. Cuttings: After disinfecting the substrate and cuttings, insert the cuttings into the substrate, about 2/3 of the length. Then fix it and water it to keep it moist.
