What kind of soil is suitable for planting lotus root potted plants?

Lotus root is an aquatic plant, and the flowers it grows are very beautiful. Lotus root is not only edible, it can also be used for viewing. In particular, lotus root is a plant that can be cultivated in potted plants at home, and it can serve as a decoration.

How to plant lotus root in pot

1. Pot soil

Generally speaking, lotus roots do not have high requirements for soil quality, but if the lotus roots grow thicker, you will need to add more potting soil. After adding the potting soil, soak it in the pot for about a week.

If the water in the pot turns dark green and a large number of yellow-green bubbles are generated, it means that there is too much fertilizer in the potting soil. You can rinse it with clean water until the water in the pot turns light green and the bottom is clear, then you can plant.

2. Fertilization

The lotus root in pots should not be fertilized too much. The principle of fertilization is to apply less fertilizer during the floating leaf stage and more fertilizer during the erect leaf stage, but not too much. More fertilizer should be applied during the flowering and fruiting stage. When fertilizing, the fertilizer cannot come into direct contact with the lotus leaves, and can be placed in the water in the center of the pot.

3. Watering

Lotus root does not require frequent watering. Generally, it only needs to be watered once a week when it is growing vigorously, just make sure it does not lack water. At the same time, it does not have any requirements for water quality, and unpolluted lotus pond water is sufficient.

Lotus root maintenance precautions

In the later maintenance of potted lotus roots, they should be placed in the sun for a while, which is conducive to the adhesion of lotus roots to the soil. When the soil in the pot cracks, you can add a little water, and then the water level should be gradually deepened, otherwise there will be insufficient water, and the lotus roots will not grow leaves and flowers.
