What are the cultivation methods and precautions of fragrant wood?

Cultivation method of fragrant wood

The fragrant wood is a shrub or small tree of the Anacardiaceae family. It can generally be propagated by sowing and cuttings. It likes sunshine and is slightly shade-tolerant. The growing environment requires a deep soil layer and can withstand low temperatures of -10°C. It likes soil with sufficient sunlight and is not prone to waterlogging.

Fragrant wood likes a warm growing environment, so it is usually better to keep it indoors, but be careful that the temperature cannot exceed 30℃. It should be kept above 10℃ in winter. Too low temperature will frostbite the plant.

Watering method

When caring for the fragrant wood, do not water it too frequently. About once every 3-5 days is enough. Water it thoroughly when watering. Do not water too much and do not let water accumulate at the bottom of the pot, otherwise its roots will rot.

Fertilization method

Try to apply as little fertilizer as possible to the fragrant wood. If too much fertilizer is applied, it will cause fertilizer damage and burn the root system. During the growing season, you can apply more fertilizer to ensure the growth of the plant.

Pruning methods

If the fragrant wood grows too high or too densely, it can be pruned appropriately to promote the sprouting of new branches. For potted plants maintained at home, 50 to 70 cm with the pot is the most suitable height.

Things to note when growing fragrant wood

Do not place the fragrant wood next to items that radiate and dissipate heat, such as televisions and computers. When growing it, pay attention to regular pruning, adjust the growth direction, do not let it grow in one direction, and give it sufficient light every day, but be careful not to expose it to direct sunlight to avoid sunburn.
