Avocado seedlings planted using avocado cores can grow and develop normally, and can bear fruit as long as pollination is successful. They do not need to be grafted like other fruit trees before they can produce fruit normally.

How to grow avocado pits in pots

1. Sowing time: Avocado grows in tropical areas and prefers warm environment. It is mostly sown in spring. It is afraid of high temperature, so it cannot be sown in summer. It also has poor cold resistance, so it should not be sown in winter.

2. Germination in advance: Avocado cores need to be germinated in advance before planting. The germination method is relatively simple. Insert toothpicks into the seeds from four directions and place them on a glass bottle to prevent them from falling. Add an appropriate amount of water to the bottle so that one-third of the core can be soaked in water. Change the water once a day and it will germinate soon.

3. Sowing: Avocados need to be planted in a place with deep, loose and fertile soil. Find a higher pot, put a layer of stones on the bottom, and then fill it with sandy loam. Place the seeds on the surface and cover them with potting soil, leaving one-third exposed. After watering it thoroughly, it will continue to grow.

If avocados are planted in the southeast coastal areas, they will bear fruit within 6-8 years under normal planting conditions. As for tropical areas, the fruiting time will be earlier.
