How many times a year can peanuts be planted and when should they be planted?

How many times a year peanuts can be planted depends on the area where they are grown. Peanuts are grown in the southern region and can be planted in two seasons a year, namely spring and autumn.

Peanuts are planted in spring around March. Peanuts planted in spring produce more fruits and are fuller. Peanuts are planted in autumn in early August. Those in areas with higher altitudes are planted in late July. Peanuts are planted in the cold northern regions and can only be planted once a year, between April and June in spring.

Peanut Planting Conditions

Peanuts have high requirements for soil and have a strong adaptability to acidic soil. However, if the acidity of the soil is high, lime and calcium fertilizers should be mixed with the soil. Only after the soil is mixed evenly can peanuts be planted.

A higher temperature is also required when planting peanuts. The average temperature for planting peanuts should be above 12 degrees. The temperature during the growth process must be maintained at 20-28 degrees. If the temperature is lower than 11 degrees, the peanuts will stop growing.

Peanut harvest time

It takes about 110-160 days from sowing to harvesting of peanuts. Some late-maturing peanut varieties can reach 180 days. The sowing period is approximately April-May. Peanuts cultivated with mulch covering can mature 7-10 days earlier, and the harvest period is approximately August-September.
