The difference between Agrimony and Bayberry

The difference between Agrimony and Bayberry

1. Difference of blades

Aralia dasyphylla usually has 3-4 pairs of leaflets, which are obovate or obovate-elliptical. It is about 1.5-5 cm long and 1-2.5 cm wide. The apex is acute and then becomes slightly blunt. The base is wedge-shaped and later becomes a wide wedge-shaped. The edges have obvious serrations.

The leaves of bayberry are thin leathery and more slender in shape than the former. The apex gradually becomes pointed upwards, the base is nearly round, and the edge is entire and without serrations.

2. The difference between flowers

The inflorescence of Agrimony is spike-shaped, with bracts usually having 6 deeply lobed, ribbon-shaped lobes, 5 sepals, which are triangular ovate, and petals that are yellow in color and oblong in shape.

The inflorescence of bayberry is capitate, the bracts are linear or linear-rod-shaped, the corolla has 5 lobes, the lobes are triangular, and the color is purple-red.
