Planting Agarwood Trees in the North

Agarwood seedlings are not suitable for planting in the north because they are a tropical tree species, and the climate in the north is relatively cold. It is difficult for agarwood seedlings to survive if planted in the north. However, they can be planted in potted plants in the north. In this way, after winter, they can be transferred indoors to overwinter and adjust the appropriate temperature.

Agarwood tree planting areas

Agarwood seedlings are more suitable for growing in tropical areas, and grow more luxuriantly in mountains and hills with lower altitudes. They are also distributed in Guangxi, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guizhou and other regions in my country. If they are planted in potted plants, you also need to prepare containers of suitable size and plant them in a mixture of red soil, loess and sandy soil.

Methods for Planting Agarwood Seedlings in the North

When planting agarwood trees, you should choose a tall, deep ceramic pot or a purple clay pot. The height of the pot should be determined according to the size of the tree, about 30-50cm. The soil can be brick red soil or mountain yellow soil with more humus and better air permeability.

If not, you can use a mixture of garden soil, sand and leaf mold in a volume ratio of 5:3:2. When planting, you can put a layer of broken tiles or bricks at the bottom of the pot to increase air permeability.
