Old stumps refer to succulent plants that have grown for many years and have obvious lignified trunks and branches. Many Crassulaceae plants can grow into old stumps after a long period of time. In order to shorten the time it takes for old stumps to appear, you can allow succulents to grow too tall, that is, reduce the sunshine time, increase the amount of watering, and make the stems of succulents longer. When the stem grows to a certain length, remove all the leaves below, leaving only a few leaves on the top. Place it in the sun with sufficient sunlight, and the stem will become woody in about a year.

Water is essential for the growth of succulents. Choosing the right water can allow succulents to grow healthily.

Tap water

Succulents must be watered with clean water that does not contain any harmful substances. Avoid using hard water that contains too much calcium and magnesium ions. In addition, tap water in daily life cannot be used directly to water succulents, as the chlorine and impurities in it are not conducive to the growth of succulents. You can leave the tap water for 1 to 2 days, and then take the upper layer of tap water to water the succulents.
