How to propagate Jade Plants by cuttings

How to propagate Jade Plants by cuttings

1. Time

The time span for cuttings of this type of plant is relatively wide and can be carried out in any time period, but spring and autumn are best because the root survival rate is higher at this time.

2. Branches

Now this one should be a little older and grow better, and it would be best if it had more side branches. We select the ones with leaves from above. The length of the branch is between eight and twelve centimeters. We need to place it in a cool place to dry for a day or two to allow the wound to dry, and then insert it into the sand bed. Of course, we can also choose the leaves of the main stem and wait until they are dry before inserting them into the sand bed. It takes root very quickly and will grow out in half a month.

3. Temperature

The temperature should be between 20 and 25 degrees, so that it will take root faster.

4. Soil

We have to wait until the wounds on the branches are dry before proceeding with the follow-up operations. The soil needs to be relatively dry, so it cannot be watered one week after planting.

5. Layering

If we really don't know how to do this, we can just do it. Make a small cut on the growing branch, and wait until the wound is dry before pressing it into the soil to fix it. It will grow roots after a few months. After confirming that it has grown roots, cut the branch off to make it a new plant. This is safer, but it takes a long time to wait.
