How much is the average yield of oats per mu? Market situation and income of growing oats

Oat yield per mu

Depending on the climate environment and planting methods in different regions, the yield of oats per mu will also vary. The yield of oats per mu is about 1,000-2,000 jin, and in some places it can reach 7,000-8,000 jin. The soil in each place is different, so the yield per mu will be different.

Oat Planting Prospects

The benefits of growing oats are actually quite good, mainly because the cost of growing oats is very low, while the yield is relatively high. Although the price is not expensive, there is still a lot of profit margin.

The total cost of planting one acre of oats is about 1,000-1,500 yuan, and the average yield of one acre of oats is about 1,000-2,000 jin. Based on the market minimum price of four yuan per jin, one acre of land can profit about 4,000-8,000 yuan, and after deducting costs, it can profit about 2,000-6,000 yuan.

How to grow oats for high yield

1. Land preparation

Oats are suitable for planting in a substrate with deep and loose soil. Before planting, the soil needs to be renovated. Because before planting oats forage, deep plowing can improve the moisture of the soil, eliminate weeds, promote root development, and prevent lodging.

2. Planting

Oats are usually sown in early April in spring, or early October in autumn. The row spacing for single sowing is 15 to 30 cm, and the row spacing for mixed sowing is 30 to 50 cm. Water once after sowing and compact the soil. The sowing amount per mu is about 10 to 15 kg.

3. Management

Newly sprouted oat seedlings are prone to weeds and will consume too many nutrients, so they need to be weeded. There will be very few weeds after they grow. However, they must be kept away from water accumulation, especially in the summer. If water accumulates and it becomes stuffy for a long time, yellow leaves and spots will easily develop, which will make management more difficult in the future.
