Key points for home care of Verbena

Key points for home care of Verbena

soil

Verbena does not have very high requirements for soil, but the soil must be fertile, loose, and have strong drainage properties to ensure the growth of verbena. Generally, neutral soil with higher humidity can be selected. The potting medium should be loose, fertile, and well-drained culture soil. Before planting, decomposed organic fertilizer and some superphosphate should be applied to the bottom of the pot as base fertilizer.

Watering

Verbena is not drought-tolerant, so it is necessary to keep the water in the plant. However, when watering the plant, it should be noted that the root system of the plant is shallow, so water it gently to avoid washing away the soil at the roots.

illumination

Verbena loves sunlight very much, but you can provide some proper shade to prevent direct sunlight from burning the leaves.

temperature

Verbena prefers to live in a high temperature environment. Its growth temperature is generally between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, and the summer temperature can be controlled below 34 degrees Celsius. In winter, the temperature of the verbena cannot be lower than 5 degrees Celsius, otherwise it will be frozen to death.

Fertilization

Verbena likes fertilizer, so just like other plants, you can follow the principle of "applying light fertilizer frequently, small amounts and frequent applications, and complete nutrition".

prune

The flowering period of Verbena is relatively long, so you can pick the core once or twice before it blooms.
