How long does it take for the green radish cuttings to take root and sprout?

Rooting time of green radish cuttings

Cutting time : It is best to cut the green radish from April to August. During this period, appropriate temperature, light, air humidity and other conditions can promote rooting.

Rooting time after cutting : The rooting ability of green radish is very strong, and it can generally take root in 7 to 15 days after being inserted. The environment is warm, around 20℃, and the rooting speed is fast. The low ambient temperature will also reduce the rooting speed accordingly.

Judging whether the cuttings have taken root: Pothos can be propagated by cuttings in a transparent container. If white roots are found growing, it can be judged that rooting has taken place.

How long does it take to grow leaves: If the green radish is properly cared for after cuttings, leaves will generally grow in about a week.

How to root green radish cuttings

1. Prepare the soil: A loose, breathable and well-drained cutting base is required. When preparing, vermiculite or perlite and coconut bricks are usually mixed. Put the prepared soil into a flower pot of suitable size.

2. Choose branches: Choose branches with strong growth of green radish, which have not been attacked by diseases and insects, and leave 2 to 3 leaves on the top.

3. Soak: Soak in rooting powder before cutting.

4. Insert into the soil: When inserting, one-third of the ear should be exposed on the soil surface. After insertion, water it and cover it with plastic film.

Management of Pothos cuttings

Disinfection: Before cutting the green radish, you can soak it in rooting water for two hours for disinfection, so that it is easier to take root.

Sunbathing: The green radish has a root system and can be exposed to the sun appropriately according to the situation, but it cannot be exposed to the scorching sun. The green radish cannot be exposed to the sun after cutting.

Fertilization: After the green radish has taken root and grown, it can be fertilized with nitrogen fertilizer as the main fertilizer and potassium fertilizer as the auxiliary fertilizer. You can use fermented rice water for watering at home, or you can use cooked soybeans to bury the soil to supplement nitrogen fertilizer.

Watering: Water the green radish immediately after cutting, and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. After the cuttings are established, avoid the soil being too dry. In summer, water the plant immediately after the water evaporates, spray the leaves with water, clean the dust and promote photosynthesis. In winter, the water temperature should be close to room temperature.
