How many kilograms of rapeseed are generally produced per mu? What is the yield per mu and the profit?

Rapeseed yield per mu

The yield of rapeseed per mu is usually around 300 kilograms. If the variety chosen is good, the environment is suitable, and the management method is proper, it can reach more than 350 kilograms. If water and fertilizer can keep up, the yield per mu can reach 400-500 kilograms.

Rapeseed Planting Prospects

The cost of rapeseed is roughly the cost of purchasing rapeseed seeds, fertilizers, land rental, and labor costs, which cost about one thousand yuan a year. The market price of rapeseed is three to five yuan per catty. The average annual yield per mu is about 800 to 1,000 catties, and the profit is about two thousand four to three thousand yuan.

Rapeseed has strong adaptability to the environment and is relatively easy to manage. It also occupies a very important position in many industries. It can provide a large amount of oil and feed, and can also drive the development of tourism. Therefore, there is a prospect for its cultivation.

How to grow rapeseed for high yield

1. Seed selection and soaking

You can use the seeds from the rape pods of the previous year. Select seeds with full grains and no pests. Put the selected seeds in salt water for disinfection. The concentration of salt water can be 10%. Soak for about 5 minutes and stir. Then rinse the seeds to remove the sclerotium and impurities mixed in the seeds.

2. Site selection and land preparation

Choose a location with convenient irrigation and drainage and loose and fertile soil. You can use a plow to plow the land, break up the clods, and plow thoroughly for at least 20 centimeters. If the soil is not fertile enough, you can add appropriate amount of farmyard manure and mix it into the soil and plow it together. Loose and breathable soil is conducive to the germination and breathing of seeds.

3. Sowing

After plowing the land, wait 2-3 days before sowing. Dig several small trenches in the field and spread the rapeseed on the slopes of the trenches. After sowing the seeds, cover them with a 1.5 cm thick layer of soil. Sprinkle water on the slopes appropriately and water the small trenches lightly to avoid washing the seeds out with direct water.

4. Fertilization management

For rapeseed planting, we need to apply fertilizers scientifically. Generally, we should apply enough base fertilizer, apply seedling fertilizer early, apply heavy wax fertilizer, and apply moss fertilizer steadily. At the same time, we must pay attention to the use of boron fertilizer in rapeseed planting to promote flower bud differentiation and fruit setting rate.

5. Field weeding

The weeding of rapeseed is easier than that of wheat and rice, but the planting of rapeseed also requires good pre-bud closure. Once the closure management is good, the pressure of chemical weed control in the later stage will be very small. In addition, the stubble of old grass must be removed before planting.
