Sesame yield per mu

Sesame is divided into white sesame and black sesame. The yield of black sesame is higher than that of white sesame, but the oil content is lower than that of white sesame. The commonly planted sesame varieties are Toshiba No. 8 and Toshiba No. 10. Both varieties are white sesame. The general yield is about 80 kilograms per mu, and the high yield can reach more than 100 kilograms. The yield of black sesame is about 100 kilograms per mu.

Sesame Planting Prospects

The costs to be paid during the sesame planting process include land rent, sesame seeds, planting equipment, fertilizers, pesticides, labor, water and electricity, etc., which are about 1,300 yuan. The sesame yield per mu is about 160-200 jin. The total income per mu is 2,800-3,600 yuan, and the net profit is 1,500-2,200 yuan.

At present, the prospects for sesame cultivation are still relatively promising. In recent years, the market price of sesame can be said to have been rising in a straight line, and sesame is also very popular in the supplementary food industry, which is also an important condition for its cultivation prospects.

How to grow sesame to get high yield

1. Planting

Sesame likes a warm environment and can be sown in May or June in late spring and early summer. It is recommended to choose a piece of soil that has not been used to grow sesame in the past two years and has good drainage. Till the soil, apply sufficient farmyard manure, select full seeds, place them in the sun for two days, mix them with a certain amount of sand and sow them.

2. Water and fertilizer

If you want sesame to grow well, you must pay attention to using more fertilizers, including an appropriate amount of nitrogen, and large amounts of phosphorus and potassium. One acre of land can use five kilograms of urea, 20 kilograms of phosphorus fertilizer and potassium fertilizer each. The amount of topdressing in the early stage of sesame flowering accounts for about 70% of the amount of topdressing in the later stage. In terms of water, keep the soil moisture between 30% and 50%.

3. Topping

In the process of planting sesame, topping is also a very important task. The vigorous growth of the top will affect the yield of flowering and fruit. Therefore, the apical dominance must be removed so that the sesame yield can be increased. When the leaves of sesame begin to turn yellow, it is almost time for it to be harvested. Be sure to pay attention to not harvesting too late.
